How do I choose a Relationship Type?
•
FULL VS. HALF: When two children from the same mother question whether they have the same father, they are testing for a Full Sibling relationship (they have the
same mother and father) vs. a Half Sibling relationship (they have the same mother, but
different fathers).
•
HALF VS. UNRELATED: When two children have different mothers but question whether they have the same father, they are testing for a Half Sibling relationship (they have the
same father, but different mothers) vs. Unrelated (they have different mothers and
different fathers).
•
FULL VS. UNRELATED: In some cases, when one child is given up for adoption for example, they are testing with a Possible Sibling for a Full Sibling relationship (they have the
same mother and father) vs. Unrelated (they have different mothers and
different fathers).
